Range Sensing Helmet

A helmet with distance sensing capabilities along with a LED display to give warnings of approaching vehicles from behind. It has a LIDAR sensor with the capability of sensing objects up to forty meters. It has LEDs mounted at the back of the helmet for signaling. It has a control/switch, located at the handlebar, to allow users to control the LEDs. The helmet also has a feedback device that provides the user with processed information, by the MSP430 microcontroller, on whether it is safe to turn. This information is provided in the form of vibration. The closer a vehicle get the stronger the vibration.
My role in the project was to program the state machine, in the MSP430, that controls the signaling and range sensing system.
